Job Description:
Responsible for keeping the planned preventive
maintenance schedule for the workshop.
Performing repair and maintenance of the
Medical Equipment.
Maintaining a spare parts stock inventory and
liaising with the Chief Biomedical Engineer.
Monitor and scrutinize all spare parts request.
Monitoring and overseeing service and repair of
the equipment under contract.
Providing engineering support to clinical and
Diagnostic Departments and conducts training
programs as required.
To keep the statistical service history record.
Ensure appropriate records and documentation of
Medical Equipment.
Assist in the strategic development of
departmental services in conjunction with the
management of the Department.
Participate in the production, maintenance and
implementation of Departmental Operating
Procedures.
To participate in the Evaluation of Medical
Equipment tenders.
Monitor Staff working hours and observe
performance.
Supervise the staff in repair and maintenance of
equipment.
May be required to be on Call and work overtime
during evenings, nights, holidays and Fridays
without Financial or other compensation.
Ensure that the overall activities meet the
requirements of quality management and
environmental policies and legal stipulations.
Demonstrate evidence of successful participation
in required training programs offered by the
hospital.
Recognize the necessity to continually develop
skills and acquire additional knowledge
appropriate to the position.
