Job Description:

Oversees the pla nning, implementation, and tracking of
a specific short-term project which has a beginning, an
end and specified deliverables.Depending on the project,
responsibilities can cover all aspects of a project from
the beginning stages of planning through to completion.
Project managers typically lead by example, so expect to
be working at hours that compliment all the other teams
within the group and its external contractors.
Key responsibilities:
Define the scope of the project in collaboration
with senior management agreeing project
objectives and documenting each activity in Gantt
Charts to track and monitor each activity to
ensure project timelines are met.
Create a detailed work plan which identifies and
sequences the activities needed to successfully
complete the project,
Risk assessment of the project as a whole and
each individual activity therein, making sure that
all the aims of the project are met, making sure
the quality standards are met.
Determine the resources (time, money,
equipment, contractors etc.) required to complete
the project
Develop a schedule for project completion that
effectively allocates the resources to the activities
Review the project schedule with senior
management and all other staff that will be
affected by the project activities; revise the
schedule as required
Determine the objectives and measures upon
which the project will be evaluated at its
completion
In consultation with the appropriate manager,
recruit, interview and select staff and/or sub
contractors’ with appropriate skills for the project
activities
Manage project staff and/or sub-contractors
according to the established policies and practices
of the organization
Ensure that project/personnel/sub-contractors
files are properly maintained and kept
confidential
Ensure that all project personnel receive an
appropriate orientation to the organization and
the project
Coordinate with senior management the
identification, selection, negotiation and Contract
with qualified consultants to work on the project
as appropriate
Manage, coordinate and monitor the execution of
the project according to the project plan
organizing and coordination the smooth team
work of the various professional people / teams /
contractors working on a project to ensure project
objectives and timelines are met.
Develop forms and records to document project
activities, set up files to ensure that all project
information is appropriately documented and
secured
Monitor the progress of the project and make
adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful
completion of the project within budgeted quality
specifications, time and cost.
Establish a communication schedule to update
stakeholders including appropriate staff in the
organization on the progress of the project
Review the quality of the work completed with the
project team on a regular basis to ensure that it
meets the project standards
Using appropriate systems to keep track of people
and progress, recruiting or coordinating the
recruitment or appointment of specialists and
sub-contractors suitable for each aspect of the
project, monitoring sub-contractors to ensure
guidelines are maintained, overseeing the
accounting, costing and billing to ensure project is
achieved within estimated time and cost budgets.
Write reports on the project for management and
for funder at the request of management
Monitor and approve all budgeted project
expenditures
Monitor cash flow projections and report actual
cash flow and variance to senior management on
a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly(
Manage and or coordinate all project funds
according to established accounting policies and
procedures
Ensure that all financial records for the project
are up to date
Coordinate and facilitate preparation of financial
reports and supporting documentation for
funders as outlined in funding agreements at the
request of the senior management
Ensure that the project deliverables are on time,
within budget and at the required level of quality
Evaluate the outcomes of the project as
established during the planning phase
