Job Description:
Manages and prepares the Highway/roads
designs and applies engineering techniques to
prepare the concept design of the Highway/roads,
the geometric alignment and design as well as the
Right-off-way for the Highway Systems taking into
account future traffic flows, design of highway
intersections/interchanges, geometric alignment,
structural design of pavement thickness, and
pavement maintenance.
Manages reviewing the transportation plan and
prepares the geometric alignment and design
plans of the Highway Systems in a way to ensure
that concept design of road is implemented
without contradiction with any road structures or
Infrastructures and to ensure safe and easy flow
of traffic on roads and intersections
Performs the required Highway/roads design
plans within the allocated budgeted hours
Participates in the development of the division's/
department's work plan; distributing and
following-up on work activities, projects and
programs, monitoring work flow and reviewing
work methods and procedures.
Directs and prepares Highway/roads design and
calculation works and applies engineering
techniques to prepare the concept design of the
Highway/roads, the geometric alignment and
design as well as the Right-of-way for the Highway
Systems.
Coordinates with bridge engineer for
interchanges structures and solves road
construction materials problems.
Coordinate with hydraulic engineer for hydraulic
structures and provides details wherever needed.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant
field.
An equivalent combination of education and work
experience from which comparable knowledge
and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
12 – 17 years of professional experience in the
field of Highway Engineering.
Have excellent knowledge in the design and
implementation of Highway/roads design works.
Have deep knowledge in Highway the codes and
Standards.
Capable of using various project management
software applications such as MS Project,
Primavera and AutoCAD/STAD.
Skilled in estimating project resource
requirements (manpower, materials, financial).
